Managing your own dashboards

Your dashboard is customizable

Every user of the platform has its own goals, needs and focus points. Therefore, you are able to create your own dashboard in your admin UI: vital monitoring, performance and operational elements are packed in various widgets you can place on your dashboard. You can even create multiple dashboards and seperate the widgets thematically.

Available widgets

The system offers three different types of widgets: monitoring, performance and operational widgets. Currently, the following monitoring widgets are available:

  • The traffic monitor allows you to compare current views, clicks and conversions in real time to a previous period.

  • The upcoming rules widget informs you what commission rules will be applied in the coming days or weeks. This will help you decide for what advertiser conversions need to be confirmed.

  • The mail monitor provides you information on the activity of your email services: the time and date of the last email transmission, the user responsible and a report on the success of the transmission.

  • The status monitor displays the number of conversions or the amount commission for the current and the previous month per advertiser, ordered by status (open, approved, confirmed or rejected).

  • The ad space categorization widget offers you an overview of all the ad space categories on your platform, along with the number of ad spaces that have been allocated to them. You can also use it to keep track of ad spaces that have not been allocated yet.

  • The product data feed monitor gives you an overview of all the product data feeds implemented on your platform. It shows you for what advertiser they are used, the status, the time and date of the last update and the status of the update.

To keep an eye on the performance of your platform, the follwoing widgets are offered:

  • With the partner performance widget, you can monitor the performance of one or more partners in your platform. It allows you to compare views, clicks, conversions, commission and revenue with your eCPM, CR and EPC. While adding it, you can define whether the widget should display the performance of one or more specific partners or the data of all partners.

  • The advertiser performance widget allows you to monitor the performance of the advertisers in your platform. Like the partner performance chart, it allows you to compare views, clicks, conversions, commission and revenue with your eCPM, CR and EPC. While adding it, you can define whether the widget should display data of one specific partner or data of all partners at the same time.

Finally, the following operational widgets are currently available:

  • The platform applications widget gives you an overview of the latest partners who have signed up for your platform. From the widget, you are able to admit your partners directly.

  • The advertiser applications widget shows you what partners have been applying for your advertisers. Like in the partner admittance widget, you are able to admit them directly.

Getting started

You will be taken to your dashboard as soon as you login to your UI. If you are in a different part of the UI, all you have to do is to click ‘dashboard’ at the top of your navigation menu. If you do so, you will at least see two options to proceed: the name of the default dashboard you have created and the option ‘manage dashboards’. If you have created multiple dashboards, they will be listed here as well.

Setting up your dashboard

Getting started

From scratch

If you did not create any dashboards yet, you will see a blank page when you login or click on ‘main dashboard’ in the navigation menu. To start creating your own dashboard, all you have to do is click the button ‘add dashboard’ in the middle of the page. If you do so, you will be taken to a page where you can define what your new dashboard will look like.

Adding additional dashboards

If you have already created dashboards, click on ‘dashboard’ in the main navigation and proceed to click on ‘manage dashboards’. If you click do so, you will see a page looking more or less like this:

The page offers you an overview of all the existing dashboards. The page is discussed in more detail below. For the moment, all you have to do is click on the button ‘create new dashboard’ on the top right corner of the overview.

Basic characteristics

After you have clicked on ‘create new dashboard’, whether you are creating your first dashboard or adding one to the dashboards you had already created, you will be taken to a page that looks more or less like this:

On this page, you can give your page a name, for example ‘my dashboard’ or ‘operational dashboard’ or merely ‘operations’. If you want, you can add a briefdescription of the dashboard you are creating. Furthermore, by ticking the box ‘default’, you can decide whether you want the dashboard you are currently creating to be the default dashboard, i.e. the dashboard that will show up automatically when you login.

Templates

Further down the page, under ‘template’, you can decide whether you want to use one of the dashboard templates:

  • The monitoring template contains all monitoring widgets: the traffic monitor, the upcoming rules, the mail monitor and the status monitor.

  • The performance template contains all the performance widgets: the partner and the advertiser performance widget.

  • The operational template contains all the operational widgets: the platform applications and the advertiser applications.

Of course, you can add other widgets later. Please note that choosing a template will require you to fill out one or more template parameters. Depending on what template you select, these parameters involve the scale of the widget, the number of elements in the widget and data from what advertisers and partners is displayed in the widgets. The parameters will show up at the bottom of the page as soon as you select on of the templates .

If you do not want to use a template, just select the custom template. Don’t forget to click on ‘save’ in the right lower corner of the page when you are done on this page.

Adding widgets

When you’ve selected one of the templates, you will be taken to the newly created dashboard straight away. To add more widgets, just click on the ‘add widget’ button at the bottom of the dashboard. When you’ve selected the custom template, you will need to add widgets to your dashboard as well. In both cases, you will be taken to a page that will look more or less like this:

On this page, you can select the widgets for the dashboard you are creating. Please note that the availability of widgets depends on your role as a user: you might find that not all the widgets mentioned above are available for you.

When you want to select a widget, just scroll over it: the icon shows you a preview of the widget and the button ‘add’enables you to add the widget to your dashboard. If you click on ‘add’, a small window will open asking your to give the widget a name and set one or more parameters. Depending on the widget you want to add, these parameters will involve the scale of the widget, the number of elements in the widget and data from what advertisers and partners is displayed in the widgets.

Managing your dashboard

Editing widgets

If you want to change the settings of an individual widget, move your mouse to the right corner of the widget. You will see the following icons appearing:

The  icon allows you to retract the widget – please note that it is not available for all widgets. With the  icon, you can refresh the data in the widget, without having to reload the complete page. If you click on the  icon, you will see the same window as you did on the page where you added the widget, allowing you to change the name and the parameters of the widget. Don’t forget to click on save when you are done. If you click on the  icon, you will remove the widget from the dashboard. If you want to add a widget to the dashboard you are working on, just click on the add widget button on the bottom of the page.

From left to right, you will find thedashboard’s name, eventually a description, the number of widgets on the dashboard and whether or not the dashboard is your default dashboard. Please remember the default dashboard is the dashboard you will immediately see when you login to your UI. Further to the right, you’ll see the status of your dashboard. The  icon allows you to go to the page on which you can add more widgets to the dashboard.

The  icon allows you to edit all the characteristics of your dashboard. If you click on it, you will see a panel opening up looking more or less like this:

This panel contains two sections. In the section in the top left corner, you can change the main details of your dashboard: the name, the description and the status. You can also define the dashboard as default dashboard by ticking the box default.

In the section below, you can change the order of the widgets on the page. You can use theand the icons to move your widgets up and down.
