Efficiently track and optimize your campaigns by setting up a tracking domain with this quick-start guide.

Step 1: Register a Tracking Domain

  1. Navigate to the Settings menu by clicking on Trail from your dashboard.

  2. Select Tracking Domains from the list of options.

  3. Click on the button to register a new tracking domain.

  4. When entering the domain name, ensure that you only create the main domain without a subdomain. For instance, if you want to create sub.domain.com, you should enter domain.com only.

Step 2: Create an Advertiser

  1. Go to the Partnerships section of the dashboard.

  2. Click on Advertiser.

  3. Select Create New Advertiser.

  4. In the first step of the creation process, you will be asked to provide a subdomain. Here, use a random string as your subdomain.

  5. From the dropdown menu, select the tracking domain you registered in Step 1. This will complete the pattern sub.domain.com with your chosen subdomain and domain.

Step 3: Configure DNS Settings

  1. Access the domain tool by navigating to Access and then Domain in your dashboard.

  2. Locate your tracking domain from the list and select it.

  3. Find the CNAME record details provided. This will include the host and value that you need to set in your DNS settings.

  4. Log in to your domain registrar's control panel and locate the DNS settings section.

  5. Add a CNAME record with the details provided by the domain tool.

  6. Once you have set the CNAME record correctly, your domain will be automatically configured and activated.

Additional Notes:

  • The random string for the subdomain should be unique and not easily guessable to prevent tracking issues and ensure security.

  • It is crucial to follow the exact CNAME details provided in the domain tool to avoid any misconfiguration.

  • If you encounter any issues during the setup, contact your domain registrar's support team for assistance.
