Good ad media management is the key to running a successful online marketing platform. This article explains you how to create a new ad media item, how to edit it and how to remove it. If you want to upload multiple ad media at the same time, please check this article. Please be aware the platform currently supports text links, image banners, HTML items. Please make sure all the ad media items are optimized for mobile usage.

When you are creating a new ad media item, the first thing you need to do is choose an ad media kit. To do so, make sure you are on the main ad media page. For a start, let’s have a closer look at the the overview of the ad media kits. Apart from the system kits (miscellaneous and rich media), the kits will have a name with the following structure:

Setting the ad media type and properties

After you have chosen your ad media kit, you will find all the existing ad media items in the kit are displayed in the right column. At the bottom of the column, you will find the following set of buttons:

By clicking on one of these buttons, you select the ad media type you create. Depending on the type you select, follow the instructions below.

  • Give your link a title (name) and write the text of the text link.

  • Under ‘link target’, define what happens after a potential customer clicks on the banner:

    • If you want your landing page to be loaded in the browser tab in which the potential customer has clicked on your banner, select ‘_self’.

    • If you want the landing page to be loaded in a new browser tab, select ‘_blank’.

    • The option ‘_top’ and ‘_parent’ are only relevant when you are working with frames, which has become very uncommon.

  • If you want, you can also add additional HTML code to transmit information related to the banner. You can also use this section to implement retargeting tags.

  • Depending on the characteristics of the ad media kit you are chose earlier, you find the target URL has already been filled in automatically. Of course, you can change it manually.

  • If you want to relate the text link to a particular tracking category, select this category in drop down menu. You should consider this option when you want to monitor the traffic (views and clicks) of your textlink by tracking category. If you don’t want to relate the link to a specific category, just use the default category.

  • Under ad media kit, you can change the ad media kit in which your text link will be stored. Please note this will have an impact on the target URL.

  • Finally, select the ad media status: if you want your text link to be available for your partners immediately, select ‘active’. Further details on the ad media status can be found below.

  • Give your banner a title (name).

  • Paste in the image URL of your banner, i.e. the URL of the page where the image used for your banner is stored.

  • If you want, you can write a brief description of your banner.

  • The banner size is filled out automatically when you paste in the image URL. Of course, you can adjust it manually.

  • Under ‘link target’, define what happens after a potential customer clicks on the banner:

    • If you want your landing page to be loaded in the browser tab in which the potential customer has clicked on your banner, select ‘_self’.
