CNAME setup with Namecheap

Add a CNAME Record to Your Namecheap Hosted Domain

  1. Log in to your Namecheap account.

  2. Click the Account drop-down menu and select Dashboard.

  3. Click Domain List and click the Manage button for the domain you wish to set up.

  4. Click Advanced DNS.

  5. Find the Host Records section and click Add New Record.

  6. From the Type drop-down menu, select CNAME Record.

  7. Fill in the form fields with the following info:

    • The Host will be the subdomain you’ll want to use for your custom domain (i.e. if your domain in get.website.com, the Host value in Namecheap will be get).

    • The Value field refers to the target CNAME URL provided by the Ingenious.

    • TTL can be left as-is or set to Automatic.

  8. Click Save All Changes.

NOTE: CNAME records can take a few days to propagate. Once it's ready, you can ensure your entry works by using this article.
