Creating a new advertiser program

Before you start

Creating a new advertiser on your platform requires that at least one entity and at least one tracking domain have been registered on your platform.

Recommendation: Set up a first party tracking domain for your new advertiser before you start to create the advertiser in the Ingenious platform.

Getting started

Use the Partnerships -> Advertiser -> Manage Advertiser main menu, click on Create new advertiser button. If you do so, you will be taken to the page on which you can define the properties of your advertiser. Alternatively, you can click on the button ‘create new advertiser’ on the page with the overview of all the advertisers on your platform.

Advertiser setup

From the page with the properties of the advertiser, you will be guided through the setup of your advertiser in four steps. Every time you have finished a step, click on the ‘save and proceed’ button in the lower right corner of the page. You will then be taken to the next page.

  4. How to define the tracking settings of your advertiser - this includes the definition of parameters, that should be added automatically to each tracking link.

When you are defining the advertiser’s properties, make sure you hide your advertiser for the time being. We recommend the mode “testing” in the advertiser settings. Otherwise, it may be displayed to partners and they might start to apply for the new program before it is ready.

After you have finished all four steps, you will be taken back to the page on which all the advertisers on your platform are listed, on which you will find your new advertiser as well. Of course, this does not mean your advertiser program is ready to go. To make sure conversions generated by your partners will be tracked, you will have to proceed with the technical setup of your advertiser.

Technical setup

To setup your partner technically, you have to do the following:

  1. Create one or more conversion targets

  2. Create one or more tracking categories

  3. Configure and implement the advertiser tracking tags

  4. Define attribution times and priorities for the attribution of conversions

If needed, you might also want to configure the container tag of your advertiser. In most cases, however, you will have to wait for partners who want to make use of the container tag.

Additionally, you can activate click filters.

All the steps mentioned above can be initiated by clicking on the icons in the technical section in the row of your new advertiser. When you are ready with the technical setup, the tracking tags need to be implemented on the website of the advertiser.

Commercial setup

After the tracking tags have been implemented on your new advertiser’s website, you can proceed with the commercial setup. This involves the following steps:

  1. Creating a new commission model

  2. Creating a fee model – please note, for most billing modes fee models are required. Only, if you chose “no billing” for your advertiser, no fee model is needed.

  3. Creatives: Creating creative sets and uploading creatives for your advertiser

You can initiate these steps by clicking on the relevant icons in the commercial section. In this commercial section, you can also access the features required to create a product data feed and manage the vouchers of your advertiser.

When the commercial setup of your advertiser is completed, make sure you process a tracking test to check whether conversions are properly tracked and rated. Please note that to process a tracking test, a test partner has to be admitted to your new advertiser program. If the test is successful, you can make the advertiser visible for the partners on your platform and encourage them to apply for the new program.

As an alternative, you may invite partners on your platform by establishing a relationship right away.
